Besides providing reliable forecasts and tracking stormy weather,Tony wakes up NBC 40 viewers with his sunny disposition. You can also count on the veteran TV personality to let us know about the various community events and festivites that are happening in our area.
During Tony Pagnotti's 20 year TV career as a weather anchor,he has been a man for all seasons. Early on, as a reporter for WNBC-TV New York, he was part of the Emmy nominated team covering the
Blizzard of ‘83’ that blanketed the Big Apple. Since then he has provided round the clock forecasts and live broadcasts for most major weather events of the past 2 decades. When he left WNBC in 1984, his weather chair was filled by an up and coming young forecaster from Cleveland named Al Roker.
Since joining Sinclair Broadcasting in September 2004, the Scranton, Pennsylvania native now enjoys the daily challenge of providing morning weather reports to cities around the country. Through all kinds of weather, Tony has also provided a sunny outlook to viewers with his warm hearted award winning human interest stories. A recipient of numerous community service awards and honors, he remains a long time fixture on the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon and is involved with many non-profit associations. A big fan of music and theater, Tony is active in community theatre productions. He’s especially proud of his lead role as Daddy Warbucks in a traveling production of Annie.
Tony is a Summa Cum Laude Graduate of Boston University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. And a member of the National Weather Association.
